Beginning Sun, Apr. 13, work will begin on for an upcoming asphalt overlay and safety improvement project to be completed later this summer. For several weeks before the overlay we will be patching and doing grading work on both the NB and SB directions of I-35 between Iowa 210 and 1st street in Ankeny.
SW Ankeny Rd from NW 72nd Pl to SW Westview Dr
SW Ankeny Road will be closed from County NW 72nd Place north to SW Westview Drive. A marked detour will be in place directing traffic to use SW Westview Drive. The closure will begin on May 27 and is expected to last through the summer.
City of Des Moines
13th St from Grand Ave to High St
13th St between Grand Ave and High St will be closed beginning Wednesday, April 23. This is a permanent closure to allow for the construction of the new Wellmark building.
Lane closure on Fleur Drive Bridge
The northbound lanes of the old Fleur Drive Bridge over the Raccoon River will be closed beginning Monday, May 12. The closure is part of the bridge rehabilitation project that will be ongoing until later this fall. The southbound lanes will remain open during this first phase of construction.
A detour will be marked using M.L. King Jr. Parkway east to SW 16th St. Traffic on the two new M.L. King Jr. Parkway bridges over the Raccoon River will NOT be affected.
12th Street between High Street and Woodland Avenue
12th Street between High Street and Woodland Avenue will be closed from July 24th until approximately August 21st due to storm sewer improvements.
29th Street from Ingersoll Avenue to Grand Avenue
29th Street from Ingersoll Avenue to Grand Avenue will be closed from July 23rd until August 13th due to sewer improvements. Local access will be maintained.
South side of Douglas Avenue from 55th Street to Merle Hay Road
South side of Douglas Avenue from 55th Street to Merle Hay Road will experience a lane closure due to curb replacement from July 18th until August 8th.
Woodland Avenue from 34th Street to 35th Street
Woodland Avenue from 34th Street to 35th Street will be closed from August 5th until approximately August 9th for the construction of the new Dahl's store. Local access will be maintained.
High Street from 10th Street to 12th Street
High Street from 10th Street to 12th Street will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. August 6th due to the High Street Re-alignment project. This closure is expected to last approximately five (5) months. Motorist may use 15th Street to Locust Avenue as an alternative route. Please use caution in this area.
City of Urbandale
128th St from Aurora Ave to Meredith Dr
The City of Urbandale will be reconstructing 128th Street from Aurora Avenue to Meredith Drive during the 2008 construction season. Starting on Monday, June 16, 2008, at approximately 8:30 am, 128th Street will be closed to all through traffic from Douglas Parkway to Meredith Drive.
City of Waukee
University Ave Phase I and Phase II
University Avenue Phase I and Phase II Construction will begin April 14th and will continue through August closing University Avenue from west of Alice's Road to and including the intersection of University and Florence Drive. DETOUR: Alice's Road to Hickman Road/Highway 6 to Warrior Lane to Ashworth Drive.
City of West Des Moines
Mills Civic Pkwy from Jordan Creek Pkwy to 81st St
Mills Civic Pkwy from Jordan Creek Pkwy to 81st St will be closed to traffic from April 21 through the Fall of 2008. Detour signage will direct motorists north to Bridgewood Blvd.
20th Street from Kingman to Center Street
20th Street from Kingman to Center Street will be closed for construction of a new road.
Mills Civic Pkwy from 60th Street to Stagecoach Drive
Mills Civic Pkwy from 60th Street to Stagecoach Drive will experience a lane closure.
Stagecoach Drive south of Mills Civic Parkway
Stagecoach Drive south of Mills Civic Parkway will experience lane closures from July 24th until August 14th due to median improvements.
68th Street at Beechtree Street
68th Street at Beechtree Street will experience a lane closure from July 25th until approximately August 8th.
60th Street from University Avenue to Westown Parkway
60th Street from University Avenue to Westown Parkway will experience a lane closure from July 28th until approximately August 4th.
88th Street from Westown Parkway to Ashworth Road
88th Street from Westown Parkway to Ashworth Road will be closed from July 22nd until August 14th.
Jordan Creek Parkway from Mills Civic Parkway to Stagecoach Drive
Jordan Creek Parkway from Mills Civic Parkway to Stagecoach Drive will experience lane closures beginning August 4th. Construction is expected to continue for approximately two months.
68th Street at Mills Civic Parkway
68th Street at Mills Civic Parkway will experience a lane closure beginning August 4th. This is expected to last approximately two (2) weeks.
Ashworth Road from 42nd Street to 41st Street
Ashworth Road from 42nd Street to 41st Street will experience a lane closure from August 5th until approximately August 11th.
Vine Street at Ashworth Road to 32nd Street
Vine Street at Ashworth Road to 32nd Street will be closed for water main work. The closure will begin on August 6th and is expected to last a week.
